Where to start, so many bad experiences with this predatory company. We hired them for two jobs:1. IT and camera security systems. Paid in advance for. 2. Hired their HR employment management team to staff our business with fully vetted, employees. Both of these jobs began around the same time frame. The IT/Security portion had already been paid for but 1/2 way through the guy from there IT/Security department quit working for them. We were left high and dry but of course did not realize all of what was happening until the 2nd job we hired them for also began to tank.Job 2, The contracted agreement was to utilize Avitus's HR department to put employment ads out, intake resumes and fully vet (background check) the prospective employees. Avitus was supposed to do the first interviews in order to verify their job experience and check their references. They instead sent us a list of applicants for us to filter through ourselves. They claimed that they had already filtered through the applicant resumes and had called on each possible match for the position, but after about 2 or 3 weeks into it we realized they hadn't complied with any of what they agreed to in our contract with them. Frustrated we ended up having to do the work ourselves. In short all that Avitus did was place an ad and take resumes through their own email and forward them to us. They were supposed to call and vet the prospective applicants. They did not. Most of (99%) of them had virtually no background experience for the job they were applying for. What it came down to was us hiring one young man who was literally the only applicant with some background experience., though not enough. Working in HR myself years ago, typical protocol was to run an ad in several mediums, take the resumes in, sort through each one to glean out those with no experience in the job applying for. Then call on those persons whos resumes matched the position. Then we would call the person, discuss their background and the position. Verify by calling the persons past work history (last 3 places on employment) and do a light background check. Avitus agreed (per our contract) that they would do all of this for us. So we hired the one guy, and immediately Avitus had already begun charging us the fee for him which was fine, we had no qualms about this until and this is where it all becomes very underhanded; This new hire ended up having a co-worker who weeks later inquired from him via text if we had any other positions available he might apply for. So the new hire gave him the shop manager cell and said, give him call. At no time did Avitus ever speak to this co-worker or even take in his resume. There was virtually no contact with the co-worker. We agreed to speak with him and give him a try on a temporary basis. We normally don't like to hire "friends of friends" so for this reason the position we placed him in was a temporary "wait and see" position.About a week or two into the Co-workers time working with us, we mentioned to Avitus that we took on a past co-worker of the new hire. Well, about a few weeks later Avitus calls to tell us they are now going to **** us for not only the 1st guy we hired, but also for his co-worker, despite that not being a part of our contract. The only person working in this department with Avitus was adamant that he had the right to do this. When we stated, no such verbiage was in our contract, he offered no explanation. We asked to speak wit h his supervisor but that went no where. Af the same time, we are now learning about the botched IT/Security job. It was becoming quite clear that Avitus was trying to offer services that they could not fulfill. We did agree to pay for the 1st new hire, but then never saw a **** from Avitus. Again when we inquired, the guy from that department rudely stated they needed to charge us for both employees. Again we argued that was not in our contract and would like to speak with his supervisor. That went no where. About 8 months later we had to let the first guy go. He totaled a company vehicle valued at around 9k and had stolen about ****** worth of product from the company and then after doing our own background check, learned he had also been fired from his previous job for the same thing. It was after speaking with his previous employer that we learned Avitus had never bothered to contact them. Had Avitus have done their job, per our contract with them, they would have discovered this in the vetting process and not even sent his resume over to us, or at least communicated this to us. The co-worker, we let go shortly after as we felt there was a conflict of interest in keeping him on. When we sat down with our contract to discuss what the fees for even hiring the first guy were and how there was nothing in our contract regarding his friend, the overall impression we obtained from how Avitus dealt with the situation was what ever benefitted them, regardless as to whether it was in the contract or not, they were going to charge us, by hook and by *****. All this happening at the same time we were to learn that Avitus wasn't going to finish the IT/Security job they started either. We made several attempts to discuss Avitus's breach of contract regarding both the IT/Security and the employment HR job. They were stuck on forcing us to pay for the other temporary co-worker, again not in the contract. At that point we cut all ties with them stating wed be happy to pay the fees for the first guy but per our contract we would not be paying them for the co-worker. About a year later a couple guys came into our place of business stating they had a court order to take any money out of our registers/safe. We were completely shocked at how they had obtained any court order when they had never served us with anything. Again, just more of Avitus underhanded business tactics. Overall in our experience it appears Avitus likes to pretend it has all these resources to offer, but when it comes down to it, they fail at completing their contracts. I have found many bad reviews on several employment websites, as well as search engine listings where reviews have been given for Avitus. I was not surprised at reading other clients reviews.
