Additional Complaint Information

As of March 14, 2011, this company has a pattern of complaints concerning contract and refund issues. Some complaints reflect Global Fitness gym members continually being billed after their membership has supposedly been cancelled.  Also, many members complain that they are being held, against their desires, to the extent of their Global Fitness contracts even after having requested  release from that contract due to Global Fitness’ sudden merger with a completely different gym entity, Stroh’s Fitness.

As of April 19, 2011, BBB complaints reflect that customers with issues concerning Stroh's Fitness are being required to speak with Michael Lee, owner of Global Fitness. Stroh's Fitness has a separate BBB review here: http://www.bbb.org/eastern-washington/business-reviews/health-clubs/stroh-s-familiy-fitness-center-in-spokane-wa-5000156/

Global Gym states to BBB that their contract does state that “if the gym relocates to a like facility within 25 miles of the original location,” the members are still bound by the contractual agreement.   Members have requested copies of their contracts and Global has not been cooperative in fulfilling this request of its customers. Other complaints reflect a lack of customer service in answering questions and gaining resolves when approaching the company directly. If you have an unresolved issue concerning this company, we strongly urge you to be pro-active and file dual complaints with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office for resolve.
