We are a retired couple on fixed incomes.We reciently had them come out to our house (during the 2021 cold snap Dec ***** when our ******* Furnace shut down because of a faulty "Inducer Blower".We expected to pay $119.00 for them to come out and access what we needed and then pay for the ****** ********** it turned out we ended up having to pay them $940.88 for them to show up fee and the part and labor!!! The Part price is the issue here.While the technician was here doing his work I took some time to look on the net at how much the part would cost if I buy it...... Amazon- Same part free shipping in 2-3 days...$ ****** + tax. so lets say $200.00. Our final price should have been close to $350.00, Not what Sturm charged us $940.88! I wrote Sturm's Service manager that day in an e-mail....Hello ****.My name is *****************************. My wife and i have used you guys for years.Friday night @ 4:00 am our ******* Gas Furnace started to make loud clanking noises and we had to deal with the cold till today Monday 27th I called today to have one of your service people come out to diagnose the problem. Inducer Blower was shot.I figured the service call was going to be around $120.00 and the price of the part $940.88 w/ tax!****. Why are we paying $940.88 for this inducer?My wife and I are both retired at 67. Your ******** seem extreme. (both yours and ********** are excessive when I can buy this part for $170.00 shipped). I took (10 minutes) to research this part on the web while ***** did his workHe purchased the very same item as below and installed it now it works fine.. see the attachment belowNote: Amazon Prime delivery would be 3-4 and no shipping costs..The very same part ***** installed.
