Complaint: I did not know the Kia Sorento I bought was not turbocharged until I got home from to Hayden Lake, Idaho. It shifted down several levels when coming out of Spokane and my friend that traveled with me said the turbocharger should have kicked in and it did not. There were no large hills on the way to Hayden Lake. When I got home it was only after looking up the 2013 Kia Sorento that I found out your salesman had not told the truth about "all four cylinder Sorentos being turbocharged". The salesman, ***** *******, stated the Sorento being turbocharged many times not just once or twice to both me and ***** ******, the man that was with me. I put no mileage on the vehicle after finding out it was not turbocharged except bring it back to the dealership, as I was very upset I had been lied to, anyone would have been upset also if you had been misrepresented like that. It makes no difference what should have been said it was what was said and the salesman clearly misrepresented the facts, many times. If all 2013 four cylinder Sorento were turbocharged where would be nothing on the dealer invoice as it was standard equipment so all four cylinders were the same standard equipment. I have done nothing wrong except believe Overturf's salesman was being totally truthful with me. The Sorento was going to be my car many years to come but it turned out not to be equipped with what I had to have to fulfill my needs. The salesman is totally at fault, no matter what he now says, he told me and my friend the vehicle I bought was turbocharged (many times) and it is not.
Desired Settlement: Refund all my monies and a written apology from Overturf
I am responding to the complaint you received from ****** *******.
I am not sure what the true reason for her buyer remorse was, but the reason she used was the vehicle did not have a turbo charger. She claimed her salesman, ***** *******, told her that all Sorento 4 cylinder models only came in a turbo version. Which is the exact opposite, the 4 cylinder Sorento is not and never has been offered in a turbo charged version. ***** ******* has been with me for 22 years and this is the first complaint of this nature I have ever received concerning his product knowledge. In fact ***** is one of my best sales people when it comes to completing all their sales training tests as soon as they become available each year. He prides himself on his product knowledge. So I am not sure the “real” reason ****** didn’t want the Sorento, but we did work out a fair deal for her to return the vehicle after driving it for over 400 miles.

I am not interesting in renegotiating the terms by which Ms. ******* and I agree for her to return the vehicle she purchased. Now she wants to renegotiate that. She came into Overturf Volkswagen Audi Kia originally to look at a Sedona van. She left with a Kia Sorento instead. Then after owning the vehicle for a week, she decided it was not the vehicle for her, accused the salesperson of misrepresentation, after owning the vehicle for a week. I do not believe ***** ******* misrepresented information on the vehicle she purchased. He has never done so in over 20 years in my employment. Why would he start now? Also I still have the vehicle she purchased in inventory, now with 500 miles on it, not new anymore. I think what I offered her to return the vehicle was more than fair.
BBB's Final Determination: After reviewing the position of all parties, BBB determined that the business made a reasonable effort to address the complaint. However the consumer remains dissatisfied.
