Complaint: I contacted this company at approximately 9:00pm because I noticed the furnace was not working. Their advertisement indicated the had 24 hour emergency services and I am 83 and my 2 year old granddaughter also lives in the home. I did not want to go through the night without heat. They said someone would call. A technician by the name of Alex called and stated "he was walking his dog and was I aware of the 139.00 charge for emergency services." I stated yes and that we needed our heat on tonight. He said he would be there in about a half hour. He came to the home and said that the part and labor would cost about 597.00 and that he did not have the part on his truck that he would need to get the part and come back to do it tomorrow. Now why does a company that provides emergency services not carry parts or are able to get that part at night? Is this not what this service is for?
Desired Settlement: They were not able to provide the services indicated. The supervisor called and stated he would give me a discount. I have a service plan that covers this part and it is free. I would not have contacted an emergency service to come out at night if they were not capable of providing that emergency service.
To Whom It May Concern,
C&C Heating and Air Conditioning would like to respond to ********** concern regarding “not carrying parts.” Our service trucks, “Warehouse on Wheels” are stocked with over 1,000 parts. Most furnaces can be repaired at the time of service. We carry several universal blower motors, gas valves, control boards, and igniters that can be used on many different styles and manufacturers of furnaces. The inducer motor, which was not working in ********** case, is engineered for that specific furnace. Almost all furnaces use a specific inducer motor. To stock every inducer motor on our trucks, for every furnace manufacturer, is not feasible. Therefore, Ms.Evola’s furnace could not be repaired until the morning. Perhaps in the future, manufacturers will engineer and produce universal inducer motors that will fit several different styles of furnaces. And in return be stocked on our service trucks to better serve the customer.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ** *******, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this offer appear below:
I spoke with ******* the manager at C & C. I found out from ******** ****** that the reason my furnace stopped working was due to a bird being stuck in that part. The technician made no attempt to remove it to find out what was wrong with it. We did tell him a humming noise was coming from it. He talked about it needing to be replaced and how much to replace that part when if he had done what he was there for and removed that part he would have found the bird. ******** ****** has said that we would have had power had he done what he was there for. I do plan on taking this company to court and sue for that and any fees and costs associated with having to resort to legal action. I have witnesses as to his neglect.
BBB's Final Determination: After reviewing the position of all parties, BBB determined that the business made a reasonable effort to address the complaint. However the consumer remains dissatisfied.
