Complaint guaranteed a job right after graduation I was a student at Eastex Dental Academy in Texarkana, TX along with five other girls. We paid $5,000 each for a spot in the program that started in November of 2014 and ended in May 2015. We attended three days a week for four hours at a time. All six of us were guaranteed jobs right after we graduated. The other five girls and I have stayed in contact with each other and none of us have received any jobs in the Dental Assistant work field and have had to find other jobs to support ourselves while still trying to find a job. Our teacher, ****** ******, did not fulfill her duty as a teacher. We walked out of the academy ill-prepared for a job. She was gone half of the 20 weeks we were in school. When she was not in class we were taught by three former students who were not employed by any Dental offices. Mrs. ****** would spend her time on her phone or on her computer instead of teaching our classes. She was very rude and unprofessional. I personally feel that she took our $5,000 for her own personal use and did not put it toward our education. Since we have graduated, Mrs. ******, has shut the Texarkana Academy down and moved off. I am personally requesting a refund of my $5,000 for bad business.
Desired Settlement A refund of $5,000
Business Response ***** ***** - *was not a very good student. *she was late a lot and not always at class *she got fired from her job while she was attending school for theft. *she failed her final exam - clinical and written *she didn't get her RDA License for Texas - which our school requires as well as the state. (I looked up her records at TSBDE and is shows her license is expired. which could mean she didn't ever get it activated or she hasn't renewed it) *THIS - would mean that she can't get a job just because of this issue. *she had a working interview at the end of the course - but probably didn't get it because she failed her final and didn't know what she was doing. I also want to add that we can not guarantee any student a job. It is in their enrollment agreement that they sign. I am attaching our enrollment agreement that all students sign. I am also attaching *****'s transcript.
