The Better Business Bureau (BBB) Serving Eastern Michigan and its partners Cintas and Global Electric Electronic Processing (GEEP), Fox2 and Greenpath Debt Solutions today announced their most successful ‘Secure Your ID’ Day event, held on April 26, 2014. The event was the largest in history for BBB of Eastern Michigan.
More than 1300 cars packed the BBB parking lot to take advantage of document destruction and electronics recycling services - helping to protect them from potential identity theft while also protecting the environment.
Being certain that private, sensitive documents are managed in a safe and protected manner is imperative as ID theft has become the fastest growing crime in the world. In fact, ID theft has risen from roughly 500,000 victims in 2012 to more than 1.3 million victims in 2013, making this event essential to the security of local citizens.
