My son, in a wheelchair and legally blind from MS, needs help. He did have a fabulous person, but she has left the company for numerous reasons, she did call AE numerous times to complain that the other caregivers weren't doing their job. Most, except the one what worked 5-days per week, would sit for hours...when I complained AE would say that he, my son, didn't ask for anything or ask them to do any chores; my response: "he's legally blind and can't see what needs doing". He didn't get anything to eat unless it was prepared or frozen food; most of the ppl didn't know how to prepare anything. ** knew his needs but set up his hours to suit their schedules; they said they asked for his approval on hours, but you have to understand his cognitive abilities are compromised from his MS. I tried numerous times to tell them, but they said it had to come from my son who is unable see the big picture. The caregiver would come at 10, I asked for 11, when he was still in bed & leave at 4:00...they'd leave before he got to eat his dinner (why, because they didn't like to drive in traffic) per *******. I, his mom, have argued with them numerous times about the care not given to my ******** fell on deaf ears. Today, they pulled all care from him without notice because I called irate that the person was leaving at 3:00; my son told them I was coming, so AE let the caregiver leave deciding I would be the caregiver. I had confronted 3 of the girls for sitting doing nothing 3 different times in over a year so they terminated his care on the spot because they said none of their ppl would work for him. That's a lie; I would ask what they had done during the day...they didn't like me asking! This is tragic for disabled ppl to be at the mercy of these companies. The workers make low wages so it's easy to see why they can't keep of get better hires. The other day, my son said the girl smelled so bad from weed he could hardly stand it. Be careful who you choose!
