      DTE charged me for a home protection plan I had no use for as I was in an apartment and didn't own any appliances, and continued to charge me for the home protection plan for my previous apartment even after moving and canceling services at that location for an entire 7 months. Now after reaching out they tell me it will be an entire week before they can call me back and won't confirm that they are going to refund me any of the money.

      Very bad customer service they do not cancel Home ******************** Plan when you asked them and the monthly rates are very high. I wish ******** had different choices for the energy bill!!!

      I had an apartment whose lease was up 2/19/2024. Received a stop service order email on 2/12/2024 to stop the service on 2/29/2024 which is the same move in date as different tenant. I could not access my account to stop the service on 2/20/2024 so I called and waited on hold. After talking with a representative and getting a confirmation number, I was told the service would be stopped on 2/20/2024. On 3/3/2024, I got an email with and updated bill showing I was charged all the way through 2/29/2024. Called DTE back and waited on hold for 30 minutes and multiple times during the call I was placed on hold for 3 to 5 minutes. I provided the confirmation number and was told that that request was canceled. I advised the representative that I had no idea why it was canceled. I was told that a new bill would be sent out reflecting my actual stop service date of 2/20/204 and it will take a couple of weeks to get the new bill. I was told it would be around 4/3/2024. If I was not paying attention, DTE would have received free money from me which I consider theft. This was a horrible experience that wasted my time. DTE needs to be more professional.

      Every couple years they "forget" to charge our auto pay and charge us two months either at once or a few days apart. If you call to resolve the issue they refuse to help in anyway. If you file a complaint online they put a hold on your bill which exasperates the issue and causes you to be multiple months behind now having to pay 3+months at once or however long it takes them to finally call you about the issue. If you file a complaint with the state it actually is reviewed not by a third party but by DTE itself.On top of their billing issues, the gross incompetence and lack of caring for their customers since 2020 if theres even a light breeze we lose power. They claim it's all the trees everytime and then go on a tree trimming spree which never helps cause we just end up losing power the next time the wind even slightly blows. On top of that their employees don't knock to let you know they're in your yard and will leave the gate open causing issues for people with dogs and even young kids. In our neighborhood there's countless power poles that are spliting, warped or severely leaning. It's ridiculous that this monopoly has been allowed to continue for so long. If I could leave negative stars I would.

      I live in a one bedroom apartment. 2 years ago, during the pandemic, I lived in a different apartment, in the same complex. My bill never exceeded $150 even during the winter months in that apartment I used to live in. This year, my bill has DOUBLED, to almost $300- at $277. Ill repeat that again, $277 for a one-bedroom apartment. Thats like a dollar for every square foot of my place. I am not constantly running anything, I shut lights off when I dont need them, and the thermostat is kept at *****. So WHY am I paying so much for essentially nothing? To line someone elses pockets? Im on the brink of poverty if this keeps up. Someone is not doing their job and the little guy is the one having to pay for it.

      Dte home protection didn't repair my furnace, been paying them 2 years when furnace broke down they refused to repair or reimburse me for hiring a contractor and I pay for green pack

      HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY. I hate DTE, they are the worst utility provider in the **************** has been out since 01/12/24 and still waiting. Im tired of DTE using the weather as an excuse, stop acting like youre not aware of michigans inclement weather. This is nothing new and should no longer be an acceptable excuse. Where do the rate hikes go, in the higher *** pockets or maybe upgrade the infrastructure to theyre homes, we havent seen any upgrades in this neighborhood in 50 years (no joke, last upgrade was early 70s).

      So glad I pay my outrageously expensive bill every month, to lose power in ******** in the middle of the coldest period, and not get it back for 4 days!!! We are going into negative temperatures, I have covid, and Im sorry but this is ridiculous!! Do better @dte!!!!
