Guests at new BBB Foundation fundraising event pick favorite vendors

DENVER –
Guests at the Better Business Bureau Foundation’s inaugural fundraising event, Delish! a tasting on June 4 chose their favorite restaurants and distilleries in respective categories. Approximately 270 tasters attended and nearly half of them cast votes for their top picks out of 11 choices: Footers Catering was chosen as favorite food taste and Leopold Bros. Distillery was chosen as favorite beverage taste. Y.Lo Epicure and Roundhouse Spirits were runners-up.

“The people have spoken and we are pleased they enjoyed the tastings so much,” said Aimee Charlton, BBB Foundation vice president and events director. “Delish! served as the first public platform for the BBB Foundation to introduce its new mission to raise up an ethical marketplace for tomorrow, so it was an honor to have such quality vendors from the metro area help make this event a success.”

Both people’s choice winners are Denver-based and family-owned. Footers Catering was founded in 1981 and delighted guests at Delish! with its beef sliders and sweet potato fries. Leopold Bros. enchanted tasters with fruit-based whiskeys and liqueurs.

Community partners of the BBB Foundation were integral pillars of the event as well including Adams County Education Consortium, Mi Casa Resource Center, OpenWorld Learning and Summer Toast 2014. The event was presented by Howard Lorton Galleries, and co-sponsored by Public Service Credit Union and EKS&H.
