DENVER – The Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau Foundation is offering its $10,000 Student of Integrity scholarship and urges the class of 2014 to apply. The BBB Foundation will award one high school senior with a four-year scholarship ($2,500 distributed each academic year) to attend the Colorado college or university of their choice.
“My liberal arts education has taken me to castles in Spain, vineyards in Italy, and the homes of Pablo Neruda in Chile,” said Alfredo Reyes, 2007 scholarship winner. “Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that I would be able to visit these distant lands.”
An eligible student must be a legal resident of Colorado and must maintain a 2.5 or better grade point average. Students must show evidence of leadership, community involvement and economic need.
The objective of this program is to provide an economically disadvantaged student who has demonstrated character and ethical values with the opportunity to continue his or her education beyond high school in Colorado.
In addition, this scholarship is intended to create long-term ties with the BBB and future Colorado business leaders who will promote ethics in the marketplace as they pursue their careers.
The deadline to apply for this year’s scholarship is September 26.
