We hired this American Moving to move us from ** to CO. While the loading met expectations, the delivery failed miserably. From the point of loading our home, we had no proactive communications on the delivery. I would call and leave a message with the move coordinator and wouldnt hear back. I would call the Salesperson/Owner and he would call back but didnt seem to have complete information. The delivery date changed last minute. When the movers arrived at our new home it was in a U-Haul truck and trailer with some of our furnishings strapped to the top of the trailer. The two men who arrived had just driven ***** miles. ***** was no additional crew. ***** was no supervisor. They didnt do a walk-through of our home. They didnt ask questions. They didnt take any steps to PROTECT our new home. When we asked about protection, they responded they didnt have any. They eventually left in the moving truck to buy some. We called American Moving to state our dissatisfaction We were told this is the crew that was available and there was nothing else they could do.My wife and I (both in our 60s) helped carry many of the boxes and directed some of the boxes to be put in the garage to save time due to the small crew. In the end, the unloading took from 11:10am to 9:30pm and the movers left before everything was complete. Several pieces of furniture were damaged and a new carpet soiled from the movers shoes. We will process an insurance claim for the furniture. We hired and paid $15,000 for a professional moving company. This is far from what we received. This was, at best an amateur, unorganized, uncaring delivery of our furnishings (repacked in a smaller U-Haul truck and strapped to the top of a trailer)! If we had known this was the service we'd receive we never would have hired ******/American Moving. Even after requesting to speak to the salesperson/owner of American Moving, he hasnt responded and delegated any interactions to a subordinate.American Moving Response

As a busy contractor and active member of my local community I have found myself and my close friends in frequent need of moving services. I have found American Moving to always be super communicative, efficient and careful with personal property. Yes and no. We paid way more than contractually obliged for a crease in part of your leather chair or couch, the only claim on a load, hold, and deliver with several months of storing your goods and delivery several hundred miles away. Following is the true tale of our move from ***************, ******** to ************, **************. This is a tale of caution, due diligence, stolen items, corporate denial and refusal to keep agreements, as follows; in August 2021, we contacted ************************************************* (Bekins) to handle the aforementioned move. Bekins, in turn hired their agent, American Moving & Storage (American) to handle, who then in turn hired ********************************** (Wheaton) to make the actual move. We are now twice removed from the original contractor. Because American is an agent to Bekins and the fact we were advised that only Bekins/American moving representatives would be handling our belongings, we were comfortable. The Bekins/American agent handling the initial contact and signing, ********************* (******), issued the standard warnings regarding valuables.Next, we were contacted by the Move Manager *********************************, who reiterated that only American staff would be handling our belongings and further reiterated the standard warnings around valuables. ****************** (*******) provided a loadout date spread of September 21 or 22, 2021 and a delivery date spread of September 25 to October 2, 2021, we agreed to the dates, and this is where the debacle begins. Expecting delivery no later than 10/2/2021, we borrowed a bed and two chairs to await delivery a stated and contracted, which never came and no contact from the driver or *******. How does one make arrangements with a major entity in the ********************** business, pay for it, but that entity cannot get its ********************** van ***** on time or even have contact with the Wheaton driver. Apparently, the driver changed trip route and did not advise anyone. My question; why was the trip rerouted without my knowledge? And, why were we not advised?Late October 5, 2021, we finally received a call from the Wheaton driver stating he would deliver the following day and he had 3 ********************** workers to help. We investigated with 5 different veteran managers and auditors. We all found you incredible. Frankly, I think you're a racist, bully, and fraud. We didn't move your ottoman, and per you're statements the only thing in the house was this ottoman with thousands of dollars of jewelry in it, the only jewelry you have in your collection that was insured with your homeowners policy.Customer Response

I don't know who you are or why you would write this. For you to call me a racist, a bully and a fraud, I think you are way out of control. If you are part of American Moving you should be held accountable slander. I don't care how many people you have talked to, this happened and it was wrong. Those people were not part of your company and they were not checked out, like I was told. Your people stole from ** and that is all there is to it.
