Colorado Corporate Compliance (CCR) was first brought to the attention of BBB on August 11, 2008. Inquiries have come from business men and women who state they received a very "official looking" document and form from CCR asking for payment of a fee and disclosure of important information about their business.
On the form is an official looking seal with the company's name encircled. The fee is listed at the top in bold print as $150 for "disclosure and processing", with an increased fee of $175 for "documents received after due date". This form also cites the California Corporations Code, relating to the requirement for a corporation to keep adequate books and records of accounts, minutes and the names and addresses of its members. It does not point out the fact that the sections quoted in the form only apply to nonprofit religious organizations.
Consumers indicate that they feel they must comply with this form and send in their fee because it looks so official and threatening. It is only after they conduct their own research on the form that they find out it is a scam.
If you receive such a letter and form sent to you, please do not fall victim to this scam. You can file your complaint online at: www.denver.bbb.org
In October 2012, it was brought to BBB's attention that this business has mailed out official looking documents to businesses requesting annual minutes and board of directors information, along with a $125 fee. The documents, while official looking, were not administered by a government agency, and businesses are not required to send the described information to this business or any government agency.
