**** *****, owner/founder of One Business COnnection, has violated his franchise agreement with me, and I want a full refund of my francise payment.
Buying a franchise from **** is the biggest mistake of my life.
He simply is not set up to take on any franchisees; he barely has enough time to attend to his own business, and also is constantly losing his focus in order to chase other revenue opportunities.
But most of all, he made it clear to me that despite his promises to the contrary, he didn't care whether or not I succeeded.
The most blatant example was when he failed to provide the promised resources to me that would have enabled me to sell a membership to a specific individual. The prospect asked for some unusual business information. **** told he had that information and would give it to me so that I could close the deal.
But instead, he interfered in the process, bigfooting me by showing up in my territory meeting in the DTC, sitting down with the prospect (whom I had pitched at length), giving her the info, signing her to a membership, then fighting me over the commission.
This was a very bad sign for me. It told me I was in business with the wrong person.
Other times, he sent prospective members to my meetings, but instead of letting me handle the sales pitch, he made special trips to those meetings and pitched them himself. Instead, he should have been attending his own simultaneous networking meetings. He prevented me from developing these skills on my own.
His training was inadequate, and he delayed letting me take over meetings, despite promising to do so. So he often ran my meetings and that diminished me in the eyes of 1BC members whose groups I was supposed to be leading. One time, he told everyone at the beginning of a meeting that I was going to run it, then ran it himself. I looked like an idiot.
**** lacks the time to properly train and support any franchise buyers. But his greed over-rides his common sense.
He wrote a sloppy orientation handbooki, riddled with typos and bad grammar. I offered several times to edit it for him, and he agreed but never sent the a file to fix. The quality of this handbook works against him in his expansion dreams.
His short attention span makes it difficult to pin him down on specifics or to get consistent, accurate information about how to operate.
When he devises a new way to make money, he hammers it to death, often at the cost of maintaining the basic building blocks of the business.
He told me to call certain vendors for essential information or help, but they never called back. I suspect each had experienced enough of ****'s empty promises and failure to deliver.
Several former 1BC members have sought me out to tell me about problems they had with ****. **** stiffed one of them on a speaking fee. He tried to nail another one with unexpected and too-high credit card charges. There are numerous other examples.
How can a franchisee, tainted by association, succeed when the owner acts like this?

Desired Settlement
(1) I want **** to fully refund my franchise fee of $29,000.
(2) I want **** to remove any references to me on the 1BC website.
(3) I want **** to stop telling 1BC members that it's OK to call me.
(4) I'll agree to a mutual non-disparagement plan.
(5) I want complete separation from 1BC.
