I was charged $875 for resetting my garage door and 1 cable, a drum, and spring retention. At the time, I questioned the amount because I thought it was exorbitant but was told that was typical. I was desperate to get it fixed and proceeded. **************** stated he would not guarantee the work as I needed new doors and tried to up-sell me on doors that would be over $5000 to get two new doors that would match. He "offered" to credit the $875 to the new doors if I bought them within the week. I then spoke to numerous people including another company that had done work on our doors before (mistakenly I had called the wrong company in the first place). The price for the repair wasn't even comparable to other quotes in the $300-400 range. I called back and A1 offered to decrease the **** to $650. Ok fine. Within the month, the door did the same thing again with rotating off line. I obviously did not call A1 back and called our original person back. He came out and noted the drum had not been properly tightened when installed by A1 and only charged his service fee to realign the door and tighten the drum ($150 more out of pocket). I held on paying A1 due to the fact that the work hadn't been properly done obviously. I waited to her from A1. Then I received a call over 5 weeks later to tell me I owed the $650. I complained about the door breaking again and that I didn't think I should have to pay. I was told I voided my warrantee by going to a different company (I was told originally that because I needed new doors, it wouldn't be under any type of warrantee anyway). I was put on with a manager who then called me a "liar and a conman" and that they had reached out to me numerous times by email and phone, but they couldn't get ahold of me. I did not receive a single email (in fact, my email wasn't listed on the receipt) nor did I receive a phone call between 8/26 and 10/4. I figured they realized they had not done an appropriate job and new how upset I had been. I have made a formal complaint to the BBB and will be following up on that end. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. It is obvious who the "liars and conmen" are.
