Programs The Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado raises and distributes funds to 85 local partners and 70 national and overseas organizations. The Federation has come to serve as an umbrella organization providing operation support for many of the Jewish communal agencies of Colorado, helping the streamline services and maximizes cost effectiveness. Locally, Federation supports programs that feed the hungry, care for the elderly; educate the young, and more. Overseas the Federation primarily supports the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Joint Distribution Committee. Together they serve Jews in 60 countries around the world. The Federation, whose partners include synagogues, agencies, organizations, benefactors and stakeholders, works to provide services that shape and guide a caring community.

Charity Licensing All charitable organizations soliciting contributions in Colorado -- with a few specific exceptions listed in the Charitable Solicitations Act at 6-16-104(6)(a)-(c), C.R.S. -- must submit an initial registration statement with the Secretary of State and receive a registration number. After the initial registration, annual registration statements must be renewed each year by the 5th day of the fifth month after the close of the organization’s fiscal year. In addition, all solicitation campaigns utilizing paid solicitors as defined at 6-16-103(7), C.R.S. must be listed on separate Solicitation Notices, which should be filed online by the paid solicitor. |
