My father entered into the care of Assured Senior Living ***************************************************, ** (based out of ***********, **, ************) on 6/27/23. He died at the facility on 7/16/23. His belongings were removed on that same day. He was in their care for a total of 20 days. In that time, $20,354.79 was charged. This is a ridiculous amount of money for that amount of time. We have tried coming to a resolution with Assured. They have admitted to some of the money being charged by mistake, but we believe they owe us even more than they are claiming. Even the money they do agree to hasn't been refunded despite their contract stating a 30-day refund window. They are non-responsive to phone calls and emails. On 8/16/23 I asked for a copy of the full, signed contract be emailed to me. That email was never responded to, just as most of my emails are ignored. I only received one of the pages of the contract which was signed by my dad despite him having a letter of incapacitation and us having a POA. The contact person that I'm supposed to be dealing with doesn't respond to any emails. The owner of the company has ignored my emails and brushed me off when I tried speaking to him over the phone. The last contact I had with any of the personnel was 8/16/23. It's now 6 weeks later and I'm no closer to having anything resolved. I know some of the money is justified, but nowhere near the amount they are claiming they are ***********. They claimed they sent invoices to our email, but we have never received any invoices. My father's rapid decline in their care and the exorbitant amount of money withdrawn from his account make me believe this company should not be allowed to run their business in this manner, if at all. I have family members who have similar issues with this company as well. They have a very high turn-over rate with their in-home employees, getting coverage from temp agencies who are unable to handle the intricacies of taking care of the elderly.
