I attempted to cancel my membership with Club Fitness Dover in person around early January 2022, as I had not been using their services since mid-2021 and I was tired of wasting money on a membership I no longer used. After filing for a Request of Cancellation, I was told it would take 30 days to process. Around mid-late February, I start to get spam calls about needing my card info to process my membership fees for Club Fitness Dover. Surely, this had to have been an error, as I had filed for cancellation a month prior. I respond to one of the calls and try to explain that I had filed for cancellation, but the Representative would not listen and kept asking for my credit card info. I started to think this a scam, so I ended up hanging up and ignoring any further calls, as all they seemed to care about getting money from me, not helping me resolve the issue. In April, I started to receive emails stating that I owed a balance of $80+ to Club Fitness Dover and needed to pay immediately. I ended up calling their customer support and explained the situation, only to be told they’d look into it and get back to me. Weeks go by and no answer, but more calls and emails asking me to update my card info to pay my balance. I have since been back and forth with their customer service, getting passed from rep to rep, never getting any resolution. I have tried to go in person to the Club Fitness Dover to talk to a manager, but I am told the manager only works Monday-Friday between 8-3. I work 8-4, so I can’t be there to see them, and apparently I have to speak to a manager about this. Finally, after getting a bit loud with a customer service rep on the phone, they tell me there is nothing they can do, other than try to get the manager of the store to call me. I agree to this, but the timeframe for them to call me back has passed. At this point, I’m sure they are trying to scam me out of money and get me to pay these ridiculous fees that I shouldn’t have to pay because I canceled.
