BBB Secure Your ID Day - Free Shredding - Only Weeks Away
DAYTON, OHIO, April 11, 2014 - Millions of Americans become victims of identity theft at a cost of more than $21 million every year. To help fight back, your Better Business Bureau will be hosting its Secure Your ID Day, shredding documents for free.
Secure Your ID Day presented by Routsong Funeral Home, Inc.
Saturday, April 26, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Routsong Funeral Home, Inc., 81 N. Main St., Centerville
This event allows you to bring up to five boxes or bags of documents to be shredded. (If you have more than five boxes, you’re welcome to go through the line again.) Your BBB staff will be on hand to provide identity theft advice and tips. It’s the perfect opportunity to get rid of your files at work and home, such as credit card statements, old checks, IRS tax returns among other items.
You don’t even have to get out of your car - just drive through and BBB staff will unload your vehicle. You can watch it go right to the Confidential Material Destruction shredding trucks. Documents to be shredded should be removed from binders, but staples, paper clips, CDs and floppy discs are okay to be shredded. Documents to be shredded will be recycled.
Previous attendees of Secure Your ID Day shared this positive feedback, “I think it’s great, really great, something that helps the community.”, “Glad you’re having it!” and “Great way to get rid of all the legal stuff. Thank you!”
Come take advantage of this free service. Invite your family and friends to take advantage of this opportunity too. Last year between your BBB's two events, more than 23 tons of material was shredded locally, which was dropped off by 840 vehicles. For more information, visit or call (937) 222-1534, 2270.
This year’s sponsors include Routsong Funeral Home, Inc., Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio, Confidential Material Destruction, WHIO-TV, Dayton Business Journal and WHIO-AM.
