DAYTON, OHIO, September 18, 2013 – Your Better Business Bureau will be shredding documents free at…
Secure Your ID Day presented by Routsong Funeral Home, Inc.
Saturday, October 19, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Routsong Funeral Home, Inc., 81 N. Main St., Centerville
This event allows you to bring up to five boxes or bags of documents to be shredded. (If you have more than five boxes, you’re welcome to go through the line again.) Your BBB staff will be on hand to provide identity theft advice and tips. It’s the perfect opportunity to get rid of your files at work and home, such as credit card statements, old checks, IRS tax returns among other items.
You don’t even have to get out of your car - just drive through and our BBB staff will unload your vehicle and you can watch it go right to the Confidential Material Destruction shredding trucks. Documents to be shredded should be removed from binders, but staples, paper clips, CDs and floppy discs are okay to be shredded.
According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), about 11.5 million Americans become victims of identity theft yearly. The FTC says identity theft cost victims approximately $21 billion per year. Joining us for this event is one step to help you avoid becoming part of these statistics.
Invite your family and friends to take advantage of this free shredding event. During the spring event, your BBB shredded 11 and half tons of materials, which were dropped off by more than 400 vehicles. For more information, visit www.dayton.bbb.org or call (937) 222-1534, ext. 2270.
This year’s sponsors include Routsong Funeral Home, Inc., Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio, Confidential Material Destruction, WHIO-TV, Dayton Business Journal and WHIO-AM.
