Our speaker for this event is Colleen Ryan will share her insight on this topic with attendees. She believes leaders and leadership aren’t always unique or memorable. However, she knows you can learn lessons from some of the most unlikely people and in some of the most extreme or unusual places. She also trusts the value of mentoring relationships, has ideas to share on leader role models and has created some tidbits for consideration on career transitions.

Colleen Ryan is currently the president of Vectren Energy Deliver of Ohio. In this capacity, Colleen serves as the face of Vectren in the 17 counties Vectren serves in southwest Ohio, demonstrating in a tangible way Vectren’s commitment to community and relationships within Vectren’s service area. With 28 years of experience in executive management and leadership at all levels, her former postion as Dayton Development Coalition’s vice president for Aerospace and Defense strengthened the Dayton community, its corresponding businesses and USAF relations. She has also served as the former Wright Patterson Air Force Base Commander and leader of the President of the United States Advanced Agent Program.

J. “Alex” Alexander, Wright State University, Department of Communication, faculty member will facilitate the event. Her primary focus is on interpersonal and team communication within organizations. She works towards the ultimate goal of serving the organization to maximize performance. Her perspective it to identify challenges and develop effective solutions. She tailors her approach to match the organization’s one-of-a kind dynamics for better outcomes.
