When selecting a lawn maintenance company, your BBB advises you:

· Get recommendations from family and friends.

· Get estimates from two or three companies. Request companies inspect your lawn and quote prices based on services requested. Don’t base your decision on cost alone.

· Find out what services are included in the cost. Does the company allow you to pay after each visit or is there a discount if you pay the annual cost up front?

· Ask for and check references to see if they were satisfied with the service.

· Determine if the company has required licensing and is a member of any professional associations. Companies must have a license to apply lawn care products. Professional organizations keep members informed on new developments in the industry.

· Get a written contract detailing costs, services, guarantees and warranties and make sure you understand everything before signing.
