BBB Identifies Misleading Advertising, Products And Services Miami Valley Consumers And Businesses May Want To Avoid

DAYTON, OHIO, September 27, 2011 - Your Better Business Bureau has identified the following businesses as offering services and products, which have resulted in numerous complaints alleging misleading ads/offers, unsatisfactory services and/or misrepresented products. Each business identified has been contacted by your BBB concerning its business practices, unresolved/unanswered customer complaints and failure to discontinue the cause of customer complaints. 

 

Gunny’s Surplus                                                                   BBB Rating: F

The complaints your BBB has received about Gunny’s Surplus allege delays in shipping products ordered or failure to ship products without a refund. Over the last three years, 11 complaints have been filed with your BBB about the company, four of which went unanswered with one being designated as being serious for failure to ship a product that has been paid for in a reasonable amount of time. Your BBB has tried to work with the company to resolve the complaints, but the business continues to ignore your BBB’s efforts.

Over the last three years, Miami Valley Concrete, LLC has had four complaints filed against it with your BBB alleging poor workmanship in services provided. Based on BBB files, Sparkling Pro Cleaning Services has had a pattern of complaints concerning misrepresentations in advertising. Some consumers have reported problems related to the purchase of on-line vouchers. Specifically, consumers have reported not being fully aware of additional fees and limitations to the service when purchasing cleaning services. There are eight complaints on file, all of which are serious in nature. The company has failed to resolve or respond to six of these complaints. Your BBB has contacted the company about the complaints. However, the company has not resolved the issues.

One complaint, serious in nature, has been filed about the company alleging poor workmanship in products along with delayed delivery of paid products. Upon receiving the product, the consumer alleged it was dangerous to operate. Your BBB has tried to work with the company regarding its inquiries and complaint. However, the company has not responded.
