I hired ******************** to make some repairs to rental properties. We have now reached an impasse on the service because in his scope of work/ contract and in discussions following he agreed to complete tasks beyond his professional ability. In doing so, he has damaged materials that cannot be replaced and refuses to compensate me for the damages, stating that he never agreed to work on them. My issue is that he never communicated to me any difficulty with completing any of the tasks until after he had completed them in an unsatisfactory manner. Had he communicated any of the issues that he had before taking on the task, I would have hired someone else to do them instead of creating more work in the long run. ******************** did offer a discount of $600 but a quote to repair just one of the items that he damaged is $400 and I am still awaiting quotes on other repairs. I asked ******************** to send me the receipts for the cost of materials so that we could simply negotiate the labor portion based on the poor quality of work and he has refused to do so. I have a recording of the conversation that ******************** and I had after initially seeing his "final" work where we agreed to certain corrections to move forward as a verbal amendment to the original contract but it is too large to upload.
