Complaint Car paint ruined when Tameron Honda was repairing a couple of scratches. Purchased a 2014 Hyundai Elantra from Tameron Honda on 4/9/2016.The car had bad tires & it had a few scratches. They agreed to fix,so they gave me a car to drive & had my car 3 days. When I went to get my car I was told it was on the other lot across the street because they had cleaned the car up for me as well. It was overcast out & I didnt notice , but several days later I went somewhere & it was a sunny day & I really noticed my car paint looked awful It had swirls all over the car like scratches.I took it to someone who does detail work & was told the people at Tameron had buffed it & had put to much pressure on it & it messed the clear coat up & most likely would have to be painted.I took it back to Tameron Honda & the General manager came out & looked at it..while I was there one of the clean up men came ou with a cloth & a bottle of wax & wiped around on the hood.I was told it was wax that they must have not gotten off good ,but once it was washed it would be okay. Then I was told it was from a car wash!I told them that the paint wasnt like that when I purchased the car.I have never washed the car since I have had it.I would have never pent almost $13,000 on something that looked this bad.I hand washed the car today...& it isnt wax! The paint is ruined.
Desired Settlement I want car fixed even if it means painted
Business Response We did agree to touch up some scratches and detail this car, however this was a used car not a new car. We would be glad to try to get the swirl marks out of the paint. Our goal is to have a satisfied customer. If the customer would like us to trade her out of the car into another used car or if she would just like us to buy the car back from her we would happily do so. We just want the customer happy.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I understand I bought a 2014 model car..but that is beside the point.I left the car to get a few minor scratches touched up. I didnt ask for the car to be detailed. These scratches all over the car was caused from a buffer. Try to get the swirl marks out??? These swirl marks wasnt on the car when I bought it. I would prefer a professional do the job . The scratches that they agreed to touch up came back after a good rain we had.
Final Business Response We just want the customer happy. If she really wants the top of the car painted we can get a quote to do that. I would suggest lets take it to a body shop and let them see if they can get the swirls out before we paint the top surfaces. We are very customer satisfaction oriented and we certainly want to do what is right to make the customer happy.
Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
