Like to fly US Airways to Boston or to Ireland? Yesterday, US Airways announced that they will cut 1,000 jobs and flights to European cities, all which will be done during the first half of 2010. The cut will put 3 percent of US Airways' workforce out of a job, according to Bloomberg.com
In addition, bases in Boston, New York and Las Vegas will be closed as well as stations in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Wichita, Kansas shut down. Those European flights that will be dropped include destinations as Milan; Birmingham, England; Shannon Island and Stockholm. US Airways is hoping with the cuts that they will bounce back next year.
