The holidays mean scams, scams, scams. A monthly report from Symantec showed a surge in "seasonally-themed spam" in October.
Spammers are taking advantage of retailers holiday plans -- a store in San Francisco already has a Christmas tree on display, according to the San Francisco Business Times.
Symantec reports close to 500 million Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas related spam emails circulating worldwide daily. Make sure to use caution when opening emails and always investigate the business you're looking to purchase from.
