H1N1 Identity Theft Scam Makes E-Mail Rounds
March 09, 2010
Awhile back, I blogged about fake Tamiflu ads. Now, there's a new e-mail scam asking you to sign up for a personal H1N1 Vaccination Profile, according to Med Page.

The e-mail which claims to originate from the Center of Disease Control but is actually from Belgium, asks for your name,

contact details and medical history.  The links in the e-mail takes you to a fake site that downloads a malicious file to your computer.   The government will never ask for your personal information via e-mail and never provide scammers access to your medical history.  Your medical history is private, between you, your family and your doctor—and no one else.

If you don't know or recognize the sender of an e-mail, don't open it.  Also, make sure your spam filters and anti-virus on your computer are updated.
