With the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, Canada a week away, parents of participating athletes and spectators, looking for tickets need to be careful when purchasing on the web, according to MSNBC
Sports enthusiasts looking for quick tickets at cheap prices, should be wary of listings on craigslist. Often times, prices that seem too good to be true and ask to wire money via Money Gram, often are. U.S residents can still purchase tickets for some events via authorized U.S. ticket reseller CoSport
or via the fan-to-fan marketplace set up by the Vancouver Organizing Committee
On taking home souvenirs, make sure that they are officially-licensed Vancouver 2010 merchandise. You will know if they are by looking for a tag with a hologram and always purchase items from authorized stores and kiosks.
If you're still looking for a place to stay while attending the Games, you can search via the Games’ official Destination Planner
. The Destination Planner lists all properly-licensed hotels, Bed & Breakfast, private homes and even cabins available on cruise ships.
