Online-based classes are growing in popularity with people of all ages.
Nearly 3.9 million students enrolled in at least one online course in 2007, according to a survey by the Sloan Consortium & Babson Survey Research Group. That is a 12 percent increase over the previous year.
According to ABC News, many of these online institutions are reputable, but some are being described as "diploma mills" that dupe those looking to advance their education.
The BBB has received 139 specific complaints about Belford High School and Belford University alone.
