Ben Steinberg has a wealth of IT experience and knowledge with over 15 years experience developing and implementing complex IT solutions. Over the last 6 years his focus has been in the video and rich media advertising space.
As CTO at Grab Networks, formerly Voxant, Inc., Mr. Steinberg led the integration of teams and technologies to develop a complete end-to-end video processing platform (GMOS). GMOS was developed using best-of-breed agile development methods and a combination of in house Unix based open-source and outsource Amazon S3 & EC2 technologies. GMOS is now the core platform for Grab Networks content distribution and advertising business supporting well over 100 million video views and a billion transactions a month.
Prior to his time at Grab Networks, Mr. Steinberg led the technical implementation of the Global Standards Body’s (GS1) Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). He was instrumental in developing technologies that supported globally shared business processes across a very diverse customer base. Today GDSN enables 20 thousand retailers and manufactures to synchronize 7 million items across 29 technology hubs and 132 countries.
Ben also spent many years at IBM where he gained considerable experience developing market strategy, managing large IT projects and working across large international organizations - most notably, as Director of the “Extended Search” federated search engine. Extended Search supports simultaneous queries across enterprise search engines, databases and file systems and returns a single normalized result. Extended Search is currently a core component of IBM’s WebSphere and Lotus Notes knowledge management platforms.
Mr. Steinberg received his B.S. in computer science from Radford University and an Executive M.B.A. from George Mason University.
