Elevator Service company of Torrington CT is barely able to perform basic services for installing a residential elevator. They broke promises and missed deadlines consistently. Most damaging is they approved construction and design plans and then rejected them AFTER construction was completed to their specifications. Their union contractors worked in an unhappy environment, mostly never showed up to scheduled appointments and did not perform scheduled work. Significant changes had to be made which could have been avoided had they inspected and visited the project before or during constriction. Our one month project has turned into eleven months of hell—and it’s still not completed. Yet this company has attempted to collect final payment before delivering a working elevator. We have a completed remodeled beautiful home but the elevator is locked and we have no access and have been effectively held hostage to their failure to perform—in our own house. This is the most damaging contractors we have worked with. I urge anyone considering an elevator project in Connecticut to avoid this company and not believe their marketing and advertising claims. Our experience over 2020-2021 shows that their incompetence and failure to work properly with clients and contractors on a basic level of professionalism is completely missing. They consistently do not take any responsibility to their clients and their suppliers—its only about themselves. A self serving company that doesn’t adhere to the most basic of business ethics. Regrettably our experience was one we hope nobody else has in their lifetime.

We have no contractual obligation to the homeowner and we have not communicated with them. Elevator Service Company, Inc. contracted with ***** ******* ** ****** ******** Inc. for the installation of a three-stop hydraulic drive elevator located at ** ****** ***** ****** **********  **** ********* who submitted the review, is relying upon information that is provided to him by others, and it is incorrect. The general contractor was provided with drawings, which they approved and signed off on, that specifically stated what measurements were required to install the elevator. The contractor failed to follow those specifications, causing delays. We had scheduled to be on site and installing the elevator and were unable to do so due to the builder’s errors. Subsequently, the scheduling of the installation needed to take place around other projects whose builders followed approved plans. Elevator Service Company did not want this job to take over a year to complete. However, it has been out of our hands. We have not demanded any payment of *** ********* Rather, the contract holder is responsible for breaching the contract they signed by delaying the installation of the unit. Our mechanics perform excellent work and proceed as far as possible with installation each day they are on the job. The day **. ******** submitted his review, our mechanic’s van was intentionally blocked-in and the homeowner refused to move their vehicle to allow him to leave. We were forced to phone the police to intervene, which convinced the homeowner to move their vehicle out of the way. While we can emphasize with the homeowner in this situation, they are blaming the wrong people for their experience.
