I purchased a generator from OJ Mann in 2013 and maintained routine service. The generator began giving me problems in 2021 and I was told I could have a governor switch rebuilt for 1500.00 or replace the generator for 3,000.00. I chose the rebuild but I do not believe the rebuild was ever done as the person took the generator off my property and although he got it to preform weekly tests it never powered an outage again and ironically that person is no longer employed by OJ Mann and the technician that came to my home in July could not find my paperwork. I was willing to stay with OJ Mann and give them an additional 1500.00 for a new generator because I believe this technician knew he could not salvage the existing generator. When I called today the woman was quite dismissive and told me to call GE when I have been dealing with them and not GE. This is a deceptive business practice as I believe there was a problem with the first technician who no longer works there. I just want fair treatment and even the second technician said he could not find a record of the “so called” repair.
