The lack of compassion and unprofessional behavior was breathtaking in the planning and handling of my mother's funeral. Mr. Carmon always reeked of cigarette smoke. At the very first meeting, there was no "I'm sorry for your loss" -- he had a let's get down to business mentality and we had already set up a funeral trust years before, so it was already paid for. The make up on my mother's face was a streaky mess that they never fixed. The limousine driver didn't know how to operate the vehicle -- swerving, hard breaking, pulling over because he didn't know how to turn down the heat while we were sweating in back and it was March, nor did he know how to unlock the doors once we arrived at the funeral home. There was another wake taking place at the same time & strangers who were lost, kept coming in to ours (strangers even signed our mother's guest book) because there was no staff in the hallway to direct people appropriately. He rushed me with the last goodbye before the coffin was permanently closed (I had seconds to say goodbye). I was rushed to write my mother's obituary & no one proofread it so the same sentence was repeated in it. Mr. Carmon yelled at me because someone who sent flowers to the funeral home used the florist in Windsor that he hated -- like that was my fault! The last thing you want is sarcasm & rudeness when you're grieving! The same Carmon family handled my father's funeral years before and couldn't have been more compassionate & professional. Now, it looks like they've grown into a big corporate money making conglomerate that could care less about the clients it serves!

I can confidently say this place is a facade in how they operate. I have heard many staff members including funeral directors and the owner Frank make terrible comments about how annoying or stupid or ridiculous families are, yes the grieving families. As well as making fun of low income families homes. I saw member(s) of the care team using the hands of deceased loved ones to make obscene gestures at each other, making fun of the outfits picked for the deceased, or making fun of the deceased in general. No emotional center. It’s sad to say you can tell they care more about the check that comes with person instead of the person themselves. Very corporate mentality, which is great for a business but not really one that deals with grief. They are very clean and they don’t do anything illegal but they are not as compassionate and caring as one would expect a funeral home to be. As long as they appear to look good I guess all is good for them. Would I want a company who is picking up my deceased loved one to make fun of my home and using their fingers to flip off coworkers? Personally no and those are things to consider unfortunately when using Carmon funeral homes
