The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office is issuing an alert to New Hampshire residents regarding a phone scam that has recently come to New Hampshire.

How it works:
Bank customers have received phone calls and text messages stating that their debit/credit cards have been compromised and that sensitive information is needed to rectify the issue.

The Catch:
These scam artists are not associated with the bank, and are looking to steal identities.

How to Avoid:
Consumers should know that legitimate organizations would never contact them via phone/text to collect sensitive information. If you do receive a call requesting information, contact your bank's customer service department directly before giving away sensitive data.  Always use extreme caution when providing personally identifiable information, especially over the phone, text, or email.
