Additional Complaint Information

The BBB has been made aware that this company has become a victim of "name-jacking." Victims of the scam told us that they search online for a loan (the websites they visit are often phishing websites that are set up just for this purpose). Once they apply for the loan online, they get a phone call from a man stating that he is an employee of American Finance and that applicant has been approved for a loan. He then proceeds to tell the victim that in order to receive the loan he/she must place an x-amount of dollars on a pre-paid card and give him the PIN of that card. Needless to say that the moment the victim gives him the PIN, the funds are gone and no loan is forth coming. We firmly suggest to all loan seekers to visit a trusted financial institution in person when applying for a loan or to go directly to a known financial institution's website to do so. Also keep in mind that a reputable company will not ask you to pre-pay any fees, particularly not via a pre-paid card.

BBB has been made aware that this company has become a victim of "name-jacking." The BBB interviewed several victims of the scam and we were told  that they search online for a loan (the websites they visit are often phishing websites that are set up just for this purpose). Needless to say that the moment the victim gives him the PIN, the funds are gone and no loan is fort coming. The BBB also contacted this business (which is an accredited BBB business) and spoke to the office manager who assured BBB that they do not operate in such a manner and were not aware that their business name was used in this scam. We firmly suggest to all loan seekers to visit a trusted financial institution in person when applying for a loan or to go directly to a known financial institution's website to do so. Also keep in mind that a reputable company will never ask you to pre-pay any fees, particularly not via a pre-paid card.
