Slamming
The following comments provide general information for consumers and do not necessarily reflect the practices or record of any particular company.
Slamming is switching your long distance service without your authorization. If you have been slammed, contact the service provider listed on your bill - refuse to pay and insist they switch it back.
You may file a complaint with your local phone company and your State Public Service Commission. In Georgia the number is 1-800-282-5813 and in Alabama the number is 334-242-5207.
Also consider contacting the State Attorney General, Consumer Protection Agency and Federal Trade Commission. The number for the Consumer Protection Agency in Atlanta is 1-800-869-1123 (inside Georgia) or 404-656-3300. In Alabama the Consumer Protection Agency number is 1-800-392-5658 (inside AL) or 334-
