BTU Comfort Solutions had been my HVAC contractor for several years. I used them to service my residence as well as rental property I previously owned in Lakewood. I paid them $174.40 on May 21, 2021 to repair my residential service which involved rewiring a thermostat which had failed to work for my central A/C. I had prepaid them $191.00 to obtain preferential service for emergencies and annual tune ups of both heating and A/C. The technician succeeded in getting the A/C operational but failed to check the heating. The weather cooled and I could not get my furnace to work. I called on June 1, 2021 to report my problem and was told they would have to get back to me with a date and time when a technician could visit. With the weather forecast to be hot I checked on June 3, 2021 to see if my A/C still worked - it did not. So I called again and was told no one could visit until Monday, June 7, 2021. This was unacceptable and I advised that I would like a refund for the prepaid furnace tune up to which they agreed. The technician said that he had to add coolant again this year and that was a sign that a new A/C unit may be needed. I asked him to mark his records that I would purchase a new A/C unit at the end of the cooling season. I called another company and scheduled a service call for June 4, 2021. Not a reliable HVAC contractor even for "preferred" customers.

Mr. ******* called for service on 5/20/21 because his AC was not working. We had a full schedule but rearranged it and scheduled him the next day, 5/21/21. The issue was as follows stated from the customer: “his handyman" moved thermostat from behind the tv to another wall. The “handyman” installed a Google thermostat and it didn’t work. He put old thermostat back where it was originally was and now the unit isn’t working”. Up arrival to his home this is what the technician found to be the problem “Thermostat wire broken in the wall. Replaced wire. Refrigerant charge low, added approx 1/2# refrigerant. Would like new A/C in the fall” per the notes on the invoice. Yes Mr. ******* called on 6/1 advised he was having an issue with his furnace, however, he said there was no hurry to schedule as the weather is warm. Yes Mr. ******* called on 6/3 and then advised that the a/c was not responding either. Advised our schedule was full and first available would be Monday. We are sorry for his inconvenience and yes his prepaid service contract will be refunded to him.
