Auto Purchase - Used

The following general information follows all reports involving dealers of used automobiles.

The BBB routinely advises used car buyers to review any warranties available from the manufacturers and dealers as well as the vehicle's repair record.

It is also advisable to test drive a vehicle and have it examined by an independent mechanic prior to purchase.

Ask to see the title to the vehicle, to be sure the dealer has the right to sell you the car.

Be aware that if a limited warranty is provided, it may be for a very limited time and only for the specific items listed.

If the car is sold as is, the dealer is usually not responsible for anything that may go wrong, even if it is discovered only a few days after purchase.
