Complaint: I called this company and made an appointment with a ****** I told him that I have outdoor lighting and my front lights will not stay on. The switch inside box keeps flipping off when the lights go on. He came out on Thursday, October 24th at 4:00pm. Meanwhile the night before we had a snow/ice storm. He came over, looked at the box. When he was done, he came to my back door, told me that there was probably a problem with one of the lines going to one of the lights and that he would have to come back another time to find it. He then told me I owed him $80.00!!! I couldn't believe it! He never told me of this charge when I called him. He ad in the News Herald stated "free Estimates". He also did not give me an invoice for my $80.00. I called him back and stated about free estimates, his reply was that is not what I asked for. No, I asked him to come fix my lights. I didn't need to pay an electrician to tell me that it's not working and there is a problem. I already know that!! I feel that I was violated and he should of had enough sense not to come to my house if he was not ready to do what needed to be done to get them working again. I work with a lot of contractors and never had someone do this to me.
Desired Settlement: I would like at least a 50% refund of $40.00.
Business Response: Business response taken over the phone by BBB staff 12/3/13. The company advised that the complaint has been resolved. The consumer found out that there was a transformer problem so he refunded the consumer the full $80.
