A1 Chimney & Duct Cleaning, 4007 N. Ridge Road, Perry, OH, 44081 is an over priced scammish sweep. Ron told us we had a chimney fire - following a routine annual sweep - news to us. Quoted us $6314 to insert a stainless steel liner. He assured us he eased through many claims for customers with no problems. Do no fall for this. Our insurance company (for over 40 years) hired a forensic engineer who said the cracks were normal wear and tear, and rejected the claim. The claim went up automatically on Lexis/Nexis CLUE as FIRE. The file is read by all insurance companies. ******* then doubled our homeowners policy cost. To find comparably priced insurance with another firm ***** * ***** *******) we had to prove the chimney was "fixed" with a liner to the tune of $3000 when there was nothing wrong with the chimney. We turned to ********** (great company). Ron's supposed photos and creosote scrapings to prove of a fire disappeared. We never heard from him again once ******* told him they had rejected the claim. He charged over $400 to seal and silicone the crown to tide us over to when he could return to do the liner. He did not want to repair the raggedy brickwork. We did not have him come back after the claim was rejected. We hired another great guy (***** *****) for $775 who did the job. We are taking the time to post this review to warn people of this Ron of A1 of Perry Ohio scam. Cost us a bundle, loss of use of the fireplace for months, mental aggravation, and a distrust now of masons. I do not want to leave even a one star review rating but the format insists that I do so.

How are people not reviewing this amazing company? They are so backed up with work, they were unable to show up for 4 weeks for our condo association, but that was OKAY! Two reps came out and assessed all chimneys, inside and out, and gave us a quote right away for each unit. The representatives were polite, knowledgable, respectful, and honest. We work with contractors on at least a daily basis, work closely with the city building department in order to abide by our state building codes. These guys do the same and follow code to the letter. When it comes to fireplaces, you do not mess around. This is our chimney company. They cost a bit more, you might wait awhile for them to get to you, but once they do, be prepared to be impressed.
