Language Arts: Scholastic's Building Language for Literacy

Science: KidScientific
-This program introduces children to the natural world around them and the wonders of science.
-The program guides children through an age-appropriate scientific method and unravels mysteries through problem-solving activities.
-This program meets the National Science Education Standards, Benchmarks for Scientific Literacy and State and National Curriculum Standards
Culture and Geography: World Cultures
-Children embark on "voyages" where they explore the inhabited continents of the world.
-Age-appropriate activities such as games, crafts and songs are used to teach children about different cultures in each region.

Second Language: Time to Sign
-This program introduces children to American Sign Language
-Sign allows infants to communicate their pre-verbal wants and needs
-Children as young as infants, ;earn how to sign through the use of songs, games, stories, and play.
-Sign helps children communicate, understand, acquire, spell, speak and read words more effectively.

Second Language: Spanish
-Through the use of games, songs, and many activities, the children will learn basic Spanish vocabulary.

Second Language: German
-In our full day private kindergarten class, our master degreed, state certified teacher will teach your child the basics of German.
-While our kindergarten teacher was getting her undergraduate degree, she studied abroad in Germany.
Physical Education: B.A.S.E. for Fitness
-This program helps build skills in Balance, Agility, Strength, Endurance.
-Exposes children to the skills necessary to support their lives, to develop positive self-esteem and to set the foundation for a healthy life-style.
-Studies have shown that physical education is linked to social skill acquisition, which includes sharing, kindness, helpfulness and cooperation
-The development of readiness skills such as listening, creativity and problem solving have been linked to physical education.
Physical Education: Yogaroo
-Teachers use guidelines to augment cross-curricular learning through motor skills, science, math, language arts and social skills.
-The program is designed to educate the "whole" child through age-appropriate activities to enhance the emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of each child.
-Regular yoga practice helps children become more aware of their inner selves, which in turn helps them learn to release anger, frustration and fears.
Physical Education: Little Racquets
-Created by a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association, this program uses elements of tennis to engage children in stimulating, playful activities that enhance their physical and emotional abilities.
-Children will learn basic tennis and improve their gross motor, social, cognitive and language arts skills.
Art History: Art History for Kids
-This program takes children on a journey through time and geography, from cave art to modern art.
-Influential artists and the contributions their art made to culture and society are explored in terms that young children can understand.
-The program is a cross-curricular program that presents projects ranging from painting and sculpting to puzzles and large motor activities.
-The Goddard School is affiliated with art museums across the country to augment the learning opportunities in the program.
Social Science: The Goddard Guide to Getting Along
-This program is designed to foster the acquisition of four essential skills: Friendship, Compassion, cooperation, and Kindness.
-The program's wide variety of age-appropriate activities inspire thoughtful discussion and provide opportunities for skill building at age-appropriate levels, even for children as young as 18 months of age.
-Providing a foundation of courtesy and respect for children is the responsibility of parents and schools working in partnership.
-Lessons on Stranger Danger teach children to recognize unsafe situations, react and respond appropriately, and differentiate between situations in which personal safety is more important than using good manners.
Computer: Discovery Kids Puterbugs Computer Class
-Designed for children in our young preschool program through our full day private kindergarten class.
-Children work cooperatively as a team to accomplish a unique computer mission, while they move ahead at their own pace on their own computers.
-Parents and children can continue the learning adventure at home by logging in a password to review the lessons learned each class and practice a sampling of online activities for reinforcement of each lesson at home.
