Careful attention should be used when choosing someone to do collision repair work on your car. You want to ensure that you have found the most qualified facility to fix one of your most expensive possessions. Your insurance company may make recommendations for you, but you as the vehicle owner need to research and make an educated choice on the repair shop. Be sure to compare shops before you actually need one. Check each shop’s qualifications. Do they have advanced technician training from a national organization, are they members industry associations. Make sure to get all estimates in writing and review these. Ask for an explanation as to why specific recommendations are necessary to correct the collision damage before the job begins. Be sure to ask if the company offers a warranty on the work performed. Remember not to compare shops based solely on price. Before you make a final decision find out about the shop’s policy in regard to if you are dissatisfied after the repair. Will they fix it free of charge and how long might the additional repairs take? All these factors need to be considered when choosing a collision center for your vehicle.
