Read Complaint Details
Complaint: We placed an order for a patio set from ****** on April 23. ****** was using Star Moving company as the local distribution center to ship our product to us. ****** estimated the delivery of this product to be 8-12 days, putting the delivery scheduled to arrive at our home between May 1 and May 5. On May 2, my husband, ****, called Star Moving Company because we had received a delivery notification email that the delivery was scheduled for Friday, May 2, and that someone would contact us to confirm the details. When no one ever called, **** called to follow up. The person he spoke with told him that they hadn't received all of the pieces of the order and that it would be delivered the following week, by Friday, May 9 at the latest. Today, on Friday, May 9, **** called again because we've still received no communication on the status of our order. He spoke with someone named ***** who was very uncooperative and told him that they just received the order from ****** today and that we were scheduled for delivery on Wednesday, May 14. **** then called ******, who informed him that their records indicated that Star had received the shipment on May 5. **** called back to Star and spoke to ***** again, and asked if she could make arrangements to see that the delivery was received tomorrow, Saturday, May 10, because of all the trouble we have experienced. ***** refused to make any accommodations to help correct the situation and we were told the delivery would remain scheduled for Wednesday, May 14. This delivery date is more than 3 weeks after the original order was placed.
Desired Settlement: We know that by the time anything is done with this, we will have received our order from Star, but we wanted to make our complaints heard because we do not feel like the company took them seriously. I am in a small business setting professionally and we pride ourselves on customer service, and when a customer has a problem, we bend over backward to fix the problem and leave the customer happy. We don't feel like anything was done to help correct the problem or better our experience, and I was very surprised to see the company currently has an A+ rating and no complaints. I think this information needs to be shared.
We are at the end of the chain and have no control over the shipping of the order. We cannot deliver until the full order is received. The full order was received on 5/9/14 and our agreement is to deliver in their area on Wednesday and Friday as part of a route with other orders in the same area.
We have no control over the automated emails sent out by ****** although this was supposed to cut our costs since we would not need to speak with the customer.
Our responses were based on what we were told.
It is unfortunate that their items did not arrive on time but this is new business we just took on and so far it is costing us a fortune in money and ill will, not to mention the stress on our people. Hopefully this is just fallout from the change over from the company that quit and shipments will begin arriving on time and complete so we can start satisfying customers.
