Description

This company negotiates short sales for homeowners at risk of foreclosure.  They extend the short sale offer to an investor who purchases the home.  The investor leases the home back to the homeowner who has a recorded option to repurchase the home at a predetermined price within the five year lease period.  If the lease period ends and the homeowner has not repurchased the home or the homeowner chooses to vacate the property at any point of the five year lease, the investor will be instructed to sell their home.  The investor will receive the option price (plus any unpaid lease payments), along with 50% of the proceeds over the option price. The homeowner will receive any the other 50% of the net seller proceeds in excess of the option price.

American Homeowner Preservation LLC does not send checks to consumers or offer mystery or secret shopping jobs. If you recieve a check in connection with an offer of employment to become a mystery or secret shopper, do not cash the check or draw on funds against the check. Any individual or business owner who suspects that he or she may have received such a check can contact BBB for assistance. Victims are also strongly urged to contact their state's Attorney General's Office, their local police and the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov) at 877-382-4357 to report the fraud. If consumers are instructed to wire funds to Canada, consumers can also contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center, otherwise known as PhoneBusters (www.phonebusters.com) by calling 1-888-495-8501.
