Complaint: Yes I just checked my bank account on Tuesday 11/26/13 and they are showing that I owe almost 200.00 due to returned checks and fees and I didn't authorize nothing and this is the second month this has happened to me
Desired Settlement: I would like the 200.00 fixed on my account and my account to go back to 5.00 like it was before the over drafted charges hit that I didn't authorize

The member has several preauthorized debits being charged through ACH, At the time of presentation, there were insufficient funds in her account to cover the ACH debits and NSF fees were charged. One of the charges was for her car insurance and the other for a loan, both of which were authorized by the member.
The member complained that the insurance premium should not have been sent through ACH until a later date and also had some disagreement with the company over the loan payments,
The member was informed to contact the originating companies to express her disagreement and to place stop payments on the items to avoid future charges to her account and possible NSF fees as a result of the preauthorized debits. She elected to place a stop on the loan payment, but not the insurance premium.
Although ail the fees were proper, as a courtesy, the credit union refunded two of her NSF fees.

Problems with Product/Service

Complaint: I went to a store yesterday and attempted to make a purchase with my MC debit card, second purchase of the day, the card was declined. I called the bank and had more than enough to cover the charge so I was confused as to why it didn't go through. I went next door to the ATM and when I put in my pin number it came up that it was an unauthorized use and kept the card. I went home and pulled up the account online and it showed the card I attempted to use and another card, that I have never seen, under my name. My wife went to the same store later that day and was able to use her bank card, no problem.This morning I called the bank and they advised me that there was a security breech in **********, and my card number was affected. When I asked why I didn't receive an e-mail or any notification, they really had no reason for it other then they were just doing what they were told. This is NOT the first time this has happened with this bank. The last time we were on vacation. I'm not sure why this credit union feels they do not need to let people know about this and how they can just cancel your card and issue a new one with no notice.
Desired Settlement: I'm sure nothing will happen but there needs to be some recourse for the credit union. It should be mandatory that advise customers when things like this happen. We don't have a lot of money in there but the rest of our family have taken there money out and we are probably going to be following suit.
Sharefax Credit Union received a list of compromised cards in May 2013. However, the plastic department elected not to “hot card” our members’ ATM/debit cards at that time since we had not experienced any fraudulent activity. However, during the week of June 20th, we received a rash of fraudulent events on cards from the May list. The credit union elected to shutdown the entire list of cards and reissue replacements immediately. Cardholders were notified by email or by phone if there was not an email address.
The credit union sent an email to Mr. ***********’s email address on his account notifying him of the plan to terminate his card and issue a replacement. However, unknown to Sharefax, the email address on his account was his wife’s. Therefore, he did not receive notification in a timely manner. Staff has since spoken to Mr. *********** to explain the circumstances and apologize for his inconvenience. Hopefully, Mr. *********** understands the situation and the need to take immediate action to avoid further losses after a series of multiple fraudulent transactions were detected.
