Complaint: We purchased sliding glass doors with blinds in them last fall. The blinds on the left door broke and when Sahara came to see what happened, the Sahara worker broke the right side the same way the left side was broken. They called the door company and arranged for a repair that took 3 different times to get correct as they kept sending the wrong door. Shortly after this in the spring, the blinds did not close correctly and we called Sahara again and they kept telling us that they called the manufacturer. However, we never received any communication from either company about when the repair would take place. Calls were made to both companies often and it took forever to hear back, with no resolution whatsoever. We came to find out that the claim that was put together by Sahara must have been ignored by the door manufacturer because they thought it was the same one that was already taken care of, thus it was not filed properly. Once the claim was refiled, there continued to be a severe lack of communication to us about what was going on, even after we continued to contact them. The response was always that they would get their supervisor involved and they would get back to us, but we had to be the ones to follow up on numerous occasions. This is still being resolved after 5 months of time passing. A similar claim is being made simultaneously for the door company as well.

Desired Settlement: Replace the doors with blinds in them with those that have double paned glass (new doors are cheaper), receive the difference back in the price of the doors, receive a credit to be used towards window treatments to cover the new sliding doors since they will not have blinds in them anymore.

I spoke with customer yesterday and ***** ***** has finally agreed to give the customer a $1200.00 credit for changing the sashes to double-pane glass without blinds. The customer understands they would need to use that refund to purchase new blinds for their home if they wish. The new sashes are scheduled to be on the truck this week. Once received we will come out and switch out the sashes, and leave a new screen which the customer was having was problems with previously, but is ok now. Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2015/10/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) This works for us.
