RIPPED OFF. PRICE GOUGED. AVOID!!!!!!!We had a flood control system installed by Scottish Plumber in 2020 and we were told at the time that the annual maintenance would be around $150 each year to have it maintained by the plumber, *************************. When I scheduled the yearly maintenance, I asked the person on the phone how much it would cost and she said "the plumber would have to tell me when they arrived." I thought that sounded odd given it was a routine service that is supposed to be performed every year.Today when they arrived the guy told me $695!!!!! He then proceeded to say he could offer it to me for $395. What the??? First, how could a yearly maintenance (no issues whatsoever) cost $700 for ANYTHING.Second, how could the price be cut by $300 just because? This is the most ludicrous, suspicious business practice I've ever dealt with since owning a home and there are quite a few shady people in the home services industry.The worst part is that I actually liked and trusted the company but now I will NEVER use them again. I reached out to their office and was told the additional $400 mark up was from "the current economy"... no, raising your prices by more than 4x is called PRICE GOUGING. ******* then told me to check the prices of other companies so I did. ******************* quoted me $175 right over the phone. I am beyond disappointed that I even let them perform today's service and sincerely warn anyone dealing with this company to go elsewhere. This business cannot and should not be trusted.

We gave $685 deposit for sump pump two months ago but had to cancel the job. They were kind & said they would return the deposit right away. Nope. Made many calls and *** they call her is away from her desk or out to lunch. All I want is my money returned. They used to be a fine company. Dont know what happened. Sort if sad. Wish us luck. Maybe they will turn around *** delight us.

We had a terrible experience with this business. Water was escaping through the floor of our first-floor shower into our basement. Our home inspector had told us that this was caused by the absence of a membrane underneath the shower floor, or an improperly installed membrane under the shower floor. ************************* of Scottish Plumbers came to inspect, confirmed the inspector's diagnosis, and gave us a quote for the job. We hired them to install a new membrane and lay new shower floor tiles, and made a down payment of $1750. ******** sent us a guy who had no experience doing this particular job. My wife heard him on the phone for a long time getting instructions from someone else. He spent a day-and-a-half working on the job. When he was done, the new tiles looked like ****, with caulk splattered in different places, and broken glass wall tiles near the shower floor. I talked to ******** and he offered to fix it, but that was before I was able to test the job by running water through it, as it needed 48 hours to dry. When I tested it, it leaked much worse than before, meaning the membrane was not installed or was not installed correctly. ******** sent another guy out, named "Primo." He told us it would take him four, five or even seven days to do the repair correctly and would require tearing out half the wall around the shower. That didn't sound right to me at all. We hired another experienced professional who did the job correctly in only 2 days for significantly less money. The other plumber who did the job right confirmed for us that there was an old membrane there that had not been installed correctly because it had perforations and did not reach the drain. This means that Scottish Plumbers did not install a new membrane, which is what we hired them and paid them to do in the first place. In other words, they did not do the job we hired them to do. I have sent emails and a letter to ********************, and he has ignored our requests to refund our money. We are irate.

Do not schedule an appointment. They don't keep them! Very poor customer service.

Let me be clear in saying that the repair done was very well overall however I felt deceived by the end of everything. Firstly I had an appointment set for Monday from 2 to 4. I was then told Monday they werent coming due to a truck issue and that they would come Tuesday at 8. When they didn't arrive I was told they would be there from 2 to 4 on Tuesday. Once they arrived the plumber informed me that my repair was very difficult, water was most likely going to have to be shut off, pipes potentially cut out of my way, shower fittings removed and corrected so he could reach the area and potentially a full rework of the water diverter control. The plumber even referenced that he made commission per job and that he had time to stay late that day to complete the work if needed. He quoted me 890 for the work. I looked online saw many plumbers at the high end charge roughly 235 an hour and figured the price was fair considering the amount of work and time it seemed to require. What wasn't made clear is that scottish plumber has a "flat rate" for anything 5 feet in length or less. Now mind you I placed images of the parts used so for supplies it was well under 20 dollars and the plumber completed the work in less than an hour. I have photos of when the plumber enters and leaves with his tools as proof. Overall I basically paid 870 an hour for the plumber to replace a threaded straight and two 90 degree fittings. Even if you want to pull off another hundred for travel, heck even another 200 for travel then I still paid at best 670 an hour for the job. I explained to the manager that when quoted and told a project is going to be difficult and then it is completed quickly and much more easily than explained it comes off very deceptive, additionally the only thing the did for the multiple reschedule, one of which I wasn't even informed of was just told, were sorry we will work on it. The scheduling should have been a warning for me.

Do not use this company especially if you are a woman of color -My neighbor referred the Scottish *******. I had some flooding issues in my basement I called them to see what my issue was and for an estimate. The estimator and worker came out and looked at my sewer. One of the gentlemen( estimator) looked into my sewer systems and it was full so he put some kind of pipe in my sewer system he told me that he see tampons in my system. I was like where at I went to look over in the system the worker was like oh it is gone. First of all no one in my house hold uses tampons or sanitary napkins so that was a lie. Fyi The water was really murky. So I told him if you see anything that looks white string must be dental floss. So he gives me an estimate for the work first he says that I need a clean out to resolve my issue. I asked for an estimate the estimator got irritate I am not going to give you an estimate if you want that go to Roto-Rooter or *** so someone else can low ball me. If he was given me an honest answer concerning what was wrong with my sewer system why not right it down. Also the kicker was he wanted to install 2 clean outs and my neighbor(*****) has the exact same house and she only needed one. And wanted charge me ( African American) woman $********. The estimator wanted to get over and he thought I was vulnerable African American woman and he was very disrespectful. I did get several other estimates and they found my true issue along with I only needed one clean out. And the Scottish ******* estimator quoted me an out rages price of $ ******** considering he charged my neighbor a cheaper price of $ ******** and we have the same house. I did report this to the manager he claims that he would look into my compliant. I would never recommend this company because they probably always use deceptive practices against women.
