Complaint: I hired Mr ******, to do some remodeling, we thought he was trustworthy and honest, but sad to say he took advantage of us. I had talk to Mr ****** about putting in a new water heater. We agreed upon a GE,for $349.00 with a 6 year warranty from home depot. We trusted that, that's what he put in. It had a overflow valve on it why we did not know, just thought it was the way it was with the new models. But the overflow kept leaking, so I would call him and he said it was under warranty and he would fix it. So he come and fixed it we thought but the very next day water was all over. I called, he called me back and said it needed another piece to make it run properly. Only cost us $280.00 more dollars. So I did some calling to home depot and Mr ******, put in a cheaper water heater $275.00, this is not what was to be put in. He also threw all the information and booklet to the water heater away. I didn't not receive a lot of the warranties for the services he did, he said I did not need them, because he guaranteed all his work.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement I would like for him to put the right water heater in. GE with 6 year warranty, I can not afford to pay $600.00 or more for a 40 gal water heater. I just want the one we agreed upon, GE, 6 year warranty and it was $349.00

Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2014/01/21) */ Thank you for the chance to submit my side of the story. First off, we never discussed a brand of hotwater heater but for the record I installed a GE Hotpoint brand. I repaired and or replaced many items for this client, when finished, she informed me she was very satisfied with my work and paid me, I deposited her check and soon found out she made a stop payment, I called her to discuss why and found out she was unhappy with one of my charges, we came to an agreement and she wrote me another check, which I was able to cash. Shortly afterwards she called complaining about a leak with the hotwater heater, I replaced the pressure valve, thinking that was the problem but that didn't correct the leak. I called the manufacture and because I replaced some of the basement water piping the manufacture informed me I would need to add a small pressure reserve tank to allow for the increased water pressure. I informed the client of this and that there would be an additional cost involved, she declined and we discussed the situtation,she informed me she was going to let me know her plans. Now attorneys are involved. I would love to get this behind us and make everyone happy. I hope you are able to help. Thank you for your help, ***** ******
