On May 13, my existing ** unit stopped working. They were 1 of 8 contractors I called to come assess. NO one else was available .Airko sent their owner ****** who told me I needed a new unit, My current unit was from 5/1989. He talked me into a new install, saying it could be done that day. As I LATER learned, the ** consists of 2 components, outdoor unit and inside coil. ***** NEVER MENTIONED this. He emphasized the ******* warranty of 10 years. So I purchased the condenser...the Invoice stating that it would be installed into 'existing system" I LATER learned that my existing system was incompatible with the new condenser. AIRKO did not discuss these facts, OR SHARE them with me, and installed the outside condenser The install took 1 hour. I immediately knew I had a problem because I knew from past experience that the job should have taken 4-6 hours. I called Airko on Monday asking for a detailed account of what work was done. I was given the run around by Georgia, who told me the job was a 'Flush and Dump" . I demanded a call back and visit to look at the install, after 10 days of 7 calls and 2 no show appointments , I called other contractors and was informed that this install was NOT Industry practice, the coil and condenser should have both been replaced. The new ******* outdoor unit was installed into a 33 year old inside coil. This conflicts with ******* bulletin , stating that outdoor units can only be installed into coils from **** or older. I sent a letter and documents to Airko, demanding a full refund and asked that this unit be removed from my property. It is not working properly, will never work as installed and I will be using another company to start over. NO other contractor will touch the unit that AIRKO installed. And I want no other work by AIRKO. I cannot trust them. The way it was installed, voids the ******* warranty, which is what AIRKO keeps promoting. I have disputed the charges on my credit card company
